(This is a design draft. The contract has not been accepted, and therefore may not live long on this website)
Sisu Hairdressing is a jointly-owned hairdressing studio located on Whiteladies Road, Bristol. Their current website uses an unusual amount of cluttered technology (full flash with default components) to achieve basic functionalities, and therefore kills off its SEO rating.
Our programmers proposed a draft layout (see URL) along with SEO package to improve the situation. An answer is expected from the owner.
The owner of Starlight Instruments asked IT to perform a few modifications to their OSCommerce set-up to allow for search-engine-friendly URLs (search engines hate URL GET variables). Within 2 hours, all the links on their websites were dynamically re-written, and a further set of SEO directives were performed.
Developer: Sebastien RenauldThe Bristol Violin Shop at the bottom of St Michael's Hill is known as one of the best violin/cello/viola store outside of London. However, their website dated back from 2000, with little or no features.
A complete overhaul of the site was made, a custom shopping system created and integrated with PayPal. Current talks with the owners include a synchronization between their site database and shop prices.
Cambridge futons was a small local start-up that built futon bases and mattresses to order. Their system previously involved emailing Excel documents with orders in them between their main office and the factory. Needless to say, this lead to orders disappearing and meant that someone had to permanently be in the office to manually write out all invoices, delivery notes, records and labels. The system we implemented for them meant that all orders could be created electronically through a simple wizard. Products from the database where matched together automatically with their available options, previous customers' details where stored so that no extra typing was needed. The system could then electronically transfer orders between the office and the workshop via a special dedicated server written specially for them. The workshop-side application then displayed all current orders, and allowed all the relevant forms to be printed off with the press of one button. Cambridge Futons has since grown and adapted, and we are now working together to help them use all the exciting new IT technologies available to modern businesses.
Note: Their current website was not made by us. Our solution was on their administration back-end.
